Jacob Costello

Congratulations Jacob Costello on being named an Illinois State Scholar!  Jacob is yet another fine example of how well academic excellence pairs with career and technical education - this time Welding Technology.

This fine young man has worked very hard and it has paid off.  Jacob attends KACC's Zero Hour Welding Technology Program.  This class meets bright and early at 6:15 a.m. Jacob has not missed a single day of class here the entire year.  His dedication to his welding program is as impressive as his academic accomplishments.

This well-rounded young man is involved in a variety of activities, including being a varsity athlete for Bass fishing, Basketball and Golf.  He is also heavily involved in Momence High School's FFA chapter and the local 4-H Club.  He currently serves as president of both organizations.

Academically, Jacob earned recognition as an Illinois State Scholar and is a member of the National Honor Society.  Jacob has been accepted to the University of Kentucky to pursue a Mechanical Engineering Degree.

It was his interest in Mechanical Engineering that led him to KACC this, his senior year.  He wanted to know the fundamentals of mechanical engineering and rightly thought KACC's Welding Technology Program was a great way to go.  Attending the early-bird zero-hour allowed him to continue a full academic load at Momence High School the entire school year.

We are all proud of Jacob's accomplishments are very much look forward to learning of all his future success.  Keep in touch Jacob!
