Cosmetology Program Information

KACC's School of Cosmetology provides the training necessary to become a licensed cosmetologist in Illinois. While earning hours, students acquire the skills needed to perform services on customers in our full-service salon.

Students can use this course as a stepping stone to complete licensure requirements. They will attend KACC during their designated time and earn hours to transfer to the Paul Mitchell School of Cosmetology.

Professional cosmetologists teach the Cosmetology program. KACC's licensed teaching professionals follow the curriculum, rules, and regulations established by the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation. This program provides hours of training that can be transferred to the Paul Mitchell School of Cosmetology in Bradley or Tinley Park, Illinois.

Students who take this course have the advantage of earning hours toward state licensure in the field of Cosmetology. Students receive instruction in theory knowledge, practical applications, and state board standards during their scheduled class time. Classes include but are not limited to Professional Development, Color, Chemical Texture, Haircutting, Infection Control, Basic Nail Applications, Skin, Makeup, Hairstyling, Product Knowledge, Chemistry, Scalp Care, and Salon Business. Students will build upon the knowledge and skills attained during lectures, continue working in the classroom, and gain hands-on experience by working with each other in our salon.
