Gloria Hernandez, Cosmetology Phase II Instructor
Launch the media gallery 1 playerAs a veteran educator at KACC, Gloria Hernandez has quite a long history of experience and education to share with her Cosmetology Phase II students. The diversity she brings, having spent a good deal of time in business as well as education has made her a great addition to Team KACC and the Cosmetology Program.
Ms. Hernandez has been actively involved in the Cosmetology industry since starting school at Trendsetters College of Cosmetology in January of 2003. Immediately after graduating, Ms. Hernandez knew she wanted to teach - entering the Instructor's Training Program - earning her Instructor's License in 2004.
Ms. Hernandez worked as a Learning Leader in the the Bradley and Mokena campuses at Trendsetters, A Paul Mitchell Partner School. As a Learning Leader, she did not stop her education. She has continuous training including Core Curriculum Training in Florida.
All during her years of teaching, Ms. Hernandez continued to serve her clientele as she owned and operated her own salon in Aroma Park. Talk about a balancing act.
Since then, Ms. Hernandez has worked in a variety of salon settings around the area before choosing to return to her passion of teaching. Ms. Hernandez says she "is very happy to be able to fulfill her LOVE of teaching." She says that she continues to be happy here at KACC - always evidenced by her bright smile for everyone and her eagerness to share her knowledge.
Not only has Ms. Hernandez been an integral part of the Cosmetology Team here at KACC - she has expanded her Team Hernandez!. She and her husband have welcomed two beautiful children to the world. Like their mom, they both have incredible smiles to share with others. Ms. Hernandez is a great example of someone who can balance work, life, family and fun.
Ms. Hernandez is passionate about the industry and "strives to be a positive influence to all students." She sayhs she hopes she can continue to inspire students to be creative and passionate people who represent the cosmetology industry in a positive way.
