The portfolio is a great way to store and display a variety of information about you, your skills, abilities and what you do best!

Not only is this a great way to demonstrate your work-related training gained here at the Kankakee Area Career Center (KACC), you can also communicate your work, extra-curricular and volunteer experiences as well as any special accomplishments and awards you have received.  

The development of your portfolio is a very important tool helping both now and well into the future, regardless of whether you immediately enter the workforce, go on to college, technical training or join the military. The portfolio is a great way to organize certificates and begin creating documents designed to help get that much sought-after job.  

Because a portfolio is designed to be updated as you attain more credentials and certifications in the years ahead, you will also be given direction on how to store your documents electronically. You'll be amazed how this is especially true for the resume.  

It is our goal that each student leave the Career Center with a complete portfolio containing a completed resume, goal statement, career plan, sample letters, samples of their work, skills learned, transcripts, certificates of completion, as well as other appropriate artifacts and letters of recommendation.
