Quteta Rodgers - Around here - She's Q
C.N.A. Clinical Supervisor
Quteta Rodgers - Affectionately known as "Q" has a very long history with Kankakee Area Career Center. Whenever her career path has led her away from KACC, she has always found her way back here. We are always delighted when Q is an active member of #TeamKACC!
Currently, Q is a C.N.A. Clinical Supervisor and resident C.P.R. Instructor on a part-time basis. She deserves her part-time schedule as Q has been a C.N.A. Instructor and Clinical Supervisor for 18 years and a C.P.R. Instructor for 31 years. Q says she "Sort of retired in 2016 and I say that because I'm still doing something I love and that is being a part of the C.N.A. Program at KACC.
It's hard to believe, but when Q was a housewife for 7 years, she says she did not even know how to read a thermometer before becoming a nurse. Forty years later, she has extensive experience in a variety of areas - surgical, oncology, pediatric, telemetry, etc in many healthcare settings - hospitals, clinics, home visits, private duty - both medical and psychiatric.
Q works with CPR training with several of the Career Center curriculum areas - whether it's Early Childhood Education, C.N.A., Medical Terminology, Law Enforcement and other agencies outside of KACC.
Q has had many hobbies in the past. Her latest hobby is learning how to sew. She says "I love learning to sew and I've just completed my first dress! When I grow up, I want to be a seamstress."
She is looking forward to "..going on mission trips, getting involved in assisting others in discovering their potential and purpose in life and having peace. I deeply believe in brotherhood and sisterhood and the kinship of mankind."
Quteta Rodgers is a true gem and a very integral partner to fulfilling our mission here at KACC. Thanks Q!
