Demonstrating its continuing support for the Fire-Rescue-EMR program at The Kankakee Area Career Center, the Manteno Fire Protection District (MFPD) donated some surplus auto extrication equipment.

Commonly known as "The Jaws of Life", the donation included hydraulic cutters, spreaders, rams, generator, and hoses.

The donation could not have come at a better time in lieu of the fact that students will soon be studying removal and treatment of those injured in vehicle accidents.

At the conclusion of this training, the students will put what they learned into practice and demonstrate their skills under the guidance of members of the Manteno FPD  when they cut apart actual automobiles at the MFPD training site. Another fine opportunity thanks to Manteno Fire Protection District!
