E-X-T-R-A-cation Equipment Donation
L to R: Lt. Adam McCrudy, Firefighter/Paramedic Nick Vallos and Firefighter/Paramedic Noah Hubly. Fun Fact: Noah is KACC alumni!
The Manteno Fire Prevention District recently donated surplus extrication equipment to the Kankakee Area Career Center Fire-Rescue-EMR program.
The items donated are typically used for stabilizing vehicles during extrication of patients involved in automobile collisions. The donation included: (4) airbags, an airbag controller, airbag hoses, wooden cribbing and step-chocks. Other tools included a cordless reciprocating saw, batteries, chargers, and various attachments for the "Jaws of Life".
KACC wishes to express its deepest appreciation to Chief Scott O'Brien and all the members of the Manteno Fire Protection District who are always ready to assist and support our efforts in educating our students who will become the future first responders in the area.
